Medium Rare
Medium Rare is easily one of my favorite restaurants in DC.
It is steak restaurant with two locations and is one of the best places for
dinner. I have been told it is great for brunch, though I have not tried it yet
Medium Rare is a bit unusual when it comes to dinner menu, as
it offers exactly one meal. This is bread and butter; a salad; steak (culotte
cut only) with their secret sauce; and fries. You also have a small selection
of desserts as well.
As you can imagine, with a menu this small, the food has to
be great and it truly is. The steak is
perfectly cooked, the sauce rich and flavorful, and the thin cut fries are a
great addition (though even better once you pour some of the extra sauce they give you over
them). Plus, by keeping the menu so small, they are able to keep the prices down too. You get all of that for about 20 dollars (not including drinks or the desserts) and it worth every penny. I highly recommend coming here hungry as service is quick, but not
rushed, and the portions are very generous. Lastly, I found the wait staff here to
be helpful and friendly and if it is your first time here, they will walk you
through ordering. This is one of the best restaurants in DC with great steaks, a good price, and quick service. I highly recommend it.
